This 'n That

Hello, everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

We had a luncheon yesterday for the graduates in our church. We had a nice time. Each of the graduates got up and told us about what they were planning to do in the future. Their parents said a few words too. Of course, some tears were shed. I can only imagine how hard it will be for the parents to see their children go off to college in the fall. I could not help but think about Katie being that age in about five years. I really don't want to think about that. I want to just enjoy the time we have together now. :)

The weather here has been very chilly today. Right now it's 55 degrees outside, with a gentle rain falling. I have the windows open, and am just enjoying the quietness of it. Just last Friday, the temperature was about 85 degrees, and we had the A/C on. I like the cooler weather better. :)

I also found a great website the other day that you may be interested in. It's called CoverMeModest. They sell a panel that you can wear under low-cut shirts, dresses, etc. They come in different colors and styles. I thought the pictures of them looked very nice. I haven't bought one, but I'm going to keep it in mind if I come across something I like, but may be too low-cut to wear by itself.

Well, I'd better run. I think I'm going to make some BLTs for supper. We haven't had those in a long time, but they sound pretty good.

Hope you all have a great week. :)

Melanie

It's hard to believe that two of our three children, have left the nest already. Time sure does fly by!

  4. Oh, I really like the panels..seems like most tops are cut so low these days. I have quite a few that I haven't worn because I didn't realize how revealing they really were once I tried them on at home. So thanks for the link!!

  5. It took me forever to get over my son graduating and moving away to school. I knew he would be gone and probably never live in this area again. Oh well. . . I am going to go check out the panels. Thanks.

  6. I remember going to College Station (almost 300 miles away) with my son for his 3-day orientation and sitting in the auditorium for the parents orientation with tears just streaming down my face. In front of EVERYONE! Those three days were really tough for me, but I had to learn to let go. It's hard though!
Yes, just enjoy your sweet girl while you've got her!

    Mmmmm...BLTs sound delicious!

I hope you had a nice day and evening my friend!

  8. you have the right attitude, Melanie, to treasure your time right now with Katie and not think too much of the future years. They will pass by so fast, you will be amazed.

what a nice tradition your church does with honoring grads like that :) I'm sure there would be tears shed indeed!

cute idea with those panels. There is a store chain here that is called "Not of this World" and they feature modest clothing for young women; certainly something I am sure is appreciated by moms. I tell you, I'm amazed at how short shorts are that girls wear here :(
