Keeping God's Promises Nearby

I've read and memorized many Bible verses over the years. They're underlined, highlighted, etc. in my Bible, but sometimes our minds get clouded with 'stuff' and we tend to forget the precious promises God has given us in His Word.

Like a lot of people, our family has to budget carefully to make sure we live within our means. I recently typed these verses and put them in the front of our budget notebook so I can readily see them and remember that God has promised to take care of His children! These verses help remind me of all the times God has provided for us, many times in unusual ways. :-)

Whatever you may be struggling with, I encourage you to find Bible verses that deal with your concern(s) and keep them handy. God's Word is a great source of comfort and encouragement.

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
~Romans 15:4

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
 ~II Timothy 3:16-17

I hope you're all doing well.
I appreciate you stopping by. :-)

Take care,
~Melanie

More Snowy Days...

A cardinal waiting his turn for the feeder~

Cozy kitty Oreo...not a care in the world... *smile*

Re-reading another favorite book of mine, Stepping Heavenward ~ a fictional diary of the life of a girl named Katy living in the 1800s. It tells of the joys and struggles throughout her life, and how she strives to draw closer to God...highly recommend!

My husband started some pinto beans soaking in the crock pot last night. They're smelling soooo good! I'll make some cornbread this evening to go with them. ♥

Thanks for visiting today. I hope you're enjoying your day! :)

Take care,

Tanya

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my cousin's wife, Tanya. She went home to be with the Lord this morning after a two year long battle with cancer. I'm so glad we were able to visit with her and the family in the hospital on Christmas Eve. She was such a sweet person and we're going to miss her, but I'm so thankful she's no longer in pain. She was just a couple years younger than me and has three children still at home. Please keep her family in your prayers. I hope you all will have a good week.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
-Psalms 116:15

A Snowy Start to the Year

Hi, everyone. I hope you all had a nice Christmas and are doing well. Even though we've been sick with colds, we had a nice Christmas with our families.

We were able to visit with my cousin's wife, Tanya. She's the one I've told you about who has cancer. She wasn't expected to make it through Christmas, but she is still hanging on and is back home with her family. Hospice has come in to help out. Thank you to all who have prayed for her. I keep praying for a miracle.

So, last night it started snowing and this is what we woke up to this morning. It's not much, but it is very pretty. It's been in the low 20's all day and is supposed to be about 10 degrees tonight.

There were some cardinals in our front tree this morning, so I filled their feeder so they could have a little treat. Notice the feeder on the left. The birds like to wait in the tree while I fill it :-)

This is a picture of our backyard. There's our blackberry trellis on the left next to our clothesline, which is taking a winter break.

Katie took this picture today. It's the field across the road at the end of our street. The Canada geese love to gather here in the winter. I've seen this field just full of them! They can be quite loud at times!

We've enjoyed our two weeks of vacation, but it's back to work on Monday. We took our tree and decorations down on New Year's Eve, but I did leave out a couple of snowmen. :-)

I hope you all will have a wonderful year!

Take care,
~Melanie
