Happy Veterans Day!!

This is a picture of my dad, Glen, from when he served in Vietnam in the mid 60s. Isn't he handsome? :) My mom made this display frame for his picture and medals. I think she did a great job!
I'm so thankful for all of our veterans, past and present, who have sacrificed so much to defend our freedom.
I'd also like to say happy birthday to my brother today!! I hope he has a great day!
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family.
More good news! I won a giveaway Sandie was having...a $55 gift certificate to CSN! If you don't know Sandie already, please stop by her blog! She is so sweet and funny. :)
I hope you're all having a great week!

Take care,
Melanie

  4. Melanine congrats on winning! how can you in your 30's have a dad that served in Vietnam? you must have been the runt of the litter?? or had older parents. I remember I just read you had a birthday and was in your 30's. My dad served in Vietnam in the early 70's. I am fascinated that your dad served in that war.
Your dad is very handsome. Sounds like you're having a great week! enjoy your night. Hugs

  6. Oh that makes sense Melanie, my dad was in his 30's late 30's when he was there. I was a pre-teen beginning the 7th grade in the 70's while he was there.
No I have not posted a email address at my blog. I might think about that, but we will see, I don't want any spam. LOL!
Your daughter is the same age as my granddaughter Morgan born in 1998. What a sweet age as well as somewhat stressful. My problem is that I used to spend more time with her, but these days I don't see her as much. Her parents gave her a cell phone and she is on it constantly and on Facebook. I do not think that is good for her at all. I am sad they have made this choice, but I am the grandparent so I can only pray for her that God will keep his hand over her. Have a wonderful evening. big hugs

Great picture of your dad and wonderful idea your mom did to make a picture frame where he could also display his medals! Thank him for serving in our military! I too respect highly all those men/women who willingly go and fight to protect our freedom!

  9. What a handsome man your daddy was and I'm sure still is! I can see some of Ms. Katie in him. Please tell him "THANK YOU" for his service to this wonderful country of ours.

And CONGRATS to you on your win -- couldn't have happened to a nicer person. :))

    Have a wonderful weekend, friend!
