Summertime


It was all so pleasant, the doors and windows
wide open to the summer evening,
the dishes making little cheerful sounds
together as Ma washed them and
Mary and Laura wiped,
and Pa putting away the fiddle and

    Oh Melanie...absolutely love the Little House books. My husband just bought me the boxed gift set. I am now reading "Little House in the Big Woods"...such nice reading!     so sweet to read, life seemed so simple back then, but they had the same struggles we did, putting a meal on the table, etc., yet I think they enjoyed life so much more than we do with our age of technology, etc.

    I have been a bad friend...away for so long! Seems like we've been so busy lately. I love your new background and music and everything! And, of course, this quote from Laura...one of my all time favorite authors! I just picked up an old copy of "the Long Winter" from our local thrift store...I was so excited to find it.

    I just LOVE your post. Laura Ingalls Wilder is a favorite of mine. Oh, to live back in that time!

    I have missed stopping by to visit. It is always so nice and relaxing here....just what I needed today!

    And your blog....it's beautiful! I can see I need a few pointers from you. I just can't seem to get mine the way I want it...comfortable, relaxing, inviting. Someday, perhaps!
