Thanksgiving

Hello, everyone!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. We spent the week with our families, and had a very nice visit. Mom, Katie, and I did some shopping before Thanksgiving, and had fun just being together. We visited with my husband's family yesterday, so we didn't do any 'Black Friday' shopping. We stayed as far away from the mall as possible! What a shame to hear the stories of people fighting over the things on sale. :(

We had to leave Mom and Dad's early this morning to avoid most of the UVA/VT game traffic. We still ended up in some of it, but it wasn't too bad. We got home a little while ago. I washed some clothes, my husband made some tomato soup, then we started unpacking.

My giveaway package arrived today too, so that was a nice treat. I already have my little snowmen displayed.



They're so cute, and much nicer than these pictures show. Faye did a beautiful job on them. :-)

    Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving! I stayed away from the mall too- nothing is a bargain enough for that ;)

    So neat you could see your families this Thanksgiving, Melanie. I know you all enjoyed the time together!! I'm with you, I don't know why people would fight and cause trouble over possessions in a store on Black Friday. And the thing is the very thing they could have been fighting over might be forgotten a month after Christmas by the recipient. Just so sad!

    I hope you rest up before you go back to work next week! Now on to Christmas! Christmas Eve is four weeks from today!! Wow!

    So glad that you had a lovely Thanksgiving with your family, and are safely home once again. I usually don't go out on 'Black Friday.' It's not worth it to me to do that! It was sad to hear about some of the stories from yesterday.

    So glad you had some family time..
    Our Thanksgiving was in October but we did have some black Friday sales here in Canada for the first time.. Nothing like what you folks have, though.. Yet.. grin..

    We went to Ohio and just got home - driving in the pouring rain.

    So glad you had a nice Thanksgiving :) We stay away from the mall on Black Friday too, and it's only about 2 miles from our house. We go out of our way to avoid it :)

    Hi, Melanie, sounds like you had a lovely Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving Day with my family. We usually stay home because my husband works retail and has to be at work super early on Black Friday. We have never actually shopped on Black Friday though. :)

    Good morning Mel, Can you believe he is 15 now, it is like WOW!
    He went up to a manager at a store asking for a job.
    The guy said you have to be 16, oh he was crushed, i said you only have one more year. I hope it goes SLOW :( He is growing up too fast.
    I do not know how I will take this him being my only baby ,and growing up sooooo fast.
