Thanks to a very generous family member, we were able to spend a few days at the ocean last week. I hadn't been in over ten years! Oh, I hope it's not that long before I can get back! It was so beautiful. There's something so peaceful about listening to the waves hit against the shore.
A yummy cobbler made with our blackberries. Mmmm......it was good!
Have been enjoying these this summer...just plain ole tomato and mayo...some kind of good! :-)
Earlier this week I hung some clothes out to dry. The weather forecast said there was only a 20% chance of rain that day...*wrong*. Well, the clothes got wet and the pins did too, so I brought everything inside...the clothes went in the dryer, and I laid the pins out to dry. When I came back a little later, I found Oreo taking a nap on them! He is so funny!
This picture is one I found from back in the spring. The blossoms from
the cherry tree were so pretty with the pinks and purples in the background. What a
beautiful sunset that was!
School will be starting again very soon! We were out this week getting some supplies for this lovely girl....
we've been blessed to have for the past sixteen years.♥
Thanks for stopping by. :-)
Take care,
~Melanie
Your daughter is so pretty, and she looks like you! Cats always seem to go to sleep on the one thing you don't want them to! You must be an amazing cook.
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to open my email and find a post from you today! I think of you often and wonder how you are and how your husband's health is. It was so nice to see a picture of your sweet daughter. She is so pretty and sweet, like her Mama! Trusting all goes well for both of you and your school year. We plan to start back the 2nd week of September, Lord willing. Take care, and God bless!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed my visit. Don't stay away from the ocean for 10 years. I go twice a year and it restores me.lol Love your kitty, your daughter, and nothing beats homegrown, homemade blackberry cobbler.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good time at the beach! Your blackberries and tomatoes look delicious! Your daughter is beautiful and so grown up now!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Melanie!
Thank you, Vicki. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe blackberries are done for the year, but we're still enjoying the tomatoes. We have yellow ones too!
Yes, Katie is really growing up! She does the ACE School of Tomorrow PACE's and is ahead by about one grade, so she may graduate this year. Time has went by so fast!
Have a great week!
It's hard to believe your daughter is 16! Time flies, doesn't it? Thank you for your sweet comments about my mom. I feel very blessed :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Marcia
Yes, Marcia, it's hard to believe Katie is 16! Time has surely flown by.♥
ReplyDeleteGood evening, Melanie~
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are lovely and the one of your daughter, well....she's BEAUTIFUL!
I pray it will not be another ten years for you to see the ocean. We went two years ago and I can't wait to go again. The only thing I don't miss about it is the SAND! lol
Blessings~
Laura
Hi, Laura,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have you stop by. :-) I know I'm her mom, but I must agree she is beautiful!
I certainly hope I'm able to get to the ocean again sooner than 10 years! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't care much for the sand either.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.♥

Yes, I know, Renee'!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe how quickly time has gone by.
Wow, Jacob in the Navy...that's exciting! Hope you guys have a great year. Love you too. ♥
I too love the ocean, and go at least once a year. For me it puts things in perspective, in the big scheme of things we are so small, but God knows us by name, no, even more, he knows the hairs on our heads, and i realise I am truly blessed.
