Hello, friends! I hope you're all doing well. :-)
Our school's third quarter is almost over, so I've been pretty busy getting ready for the end of the school year. We'll have to shorten our Easter break this year due to the snow days we had last month.
I am so excited that my copy of Pioneer Girl finally arrived yesterday! I had placed an order with Amazon, but they were out of stock for weeks, so I finally canceled that order and placed one with Barnes & Noble.
The book came while I was at work, so my husband decided to have a little fun. :-) He is so funny...I never know what he might do! *hahaha*
I hope to find some time to read this weekend.

Katie's trip to Uruguay went well. It wasn't easy letting her go so far away. She was gone twelve days. During that time they ministered in five churches and also had times of street witnessing. They estimated that they ministered to about 2,000 people.
One day they went mountain climbing and even had a chance to talk with a group of orphans that also happened to be there at the same time. This cross was on the mountain they climbed.
What a beautiful view!
The two pictures above were taken from inside the cross.
Spring has definitely arrived in my neck of the woods...my daffodils are just about to bloom.♥
Have a great weekend, everyone! Thanks for stopping by! :-)
Take care,
~Melanie
Beautiful photos. You have a lovely blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. Please come back anytime! :-)
DeleteI am glad she is back and the trip went well. Wow on this cross, it is awesome, and you can even go inside! I might get a teeny bit of vertigo, though! Where is this book in the Little House series? Is it the last one?
ReplyDeleteYes, Ginny, they could go inside it! They really liked it.
DeleteThe book is new, just published last year. It's her autobiography that she wrote in 1930, but was never published. It's been wildly popular among true LIW fans. The publisher way underestimated how many people would be interested in this book. Their first printing was only 15,000 and I think they're on their 3rd print run now...lots of good information in addition to the story. :-)
That is a cool cross! Glad Katie's trip went well! Happy reading!
ReplyDeletebetty
Yes, I thought it was pretty cool too, Betty! The view was amazing!
DeleteI've read a little of my book. I'm really enjoying it. Have a great weekend! :-)
Yes, the views are so pretty! She said it was a great day. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood morning Melanie! Oh how fun is your husband...I have one like that too. They are a blessing for sure.
ReplyDeleteGlad you did finally get the book though.
Goodness the stairwell in the cross looks like a snails shell at first...just beautiful and at a quick glance without staring at it, it looks like it's pearlized (I now that's not a word but couldn't find the right one.)
Thanks for sharing.
Karen
Hello, Karen~ :-)
DeleteI never know what my husband is going to do! I'm sure you can relate!
I've been enjoying my book. It's hard to put down!
The stairwell is like the ones I've seen in a lighthouse. Too bad people mess things up with graffiti.
Good to hear from you. Take care.♥
What beautiful pictures! I have been thinking of you all and continue to pray for you. So thankful your dear Katie had such an enjoyable, edifying trip and that she is back at home safe with you. I hadn't heard of that book, I don't think. I hope you enjoy it!! Much love to you, sweet friend. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you, Cheryl! We're so glad she's back safely as well. You know it wasn't easy for me. :-)
DeleteThe book is new, just published last year. It's her autobiography she wrote in 1930, but was never published. Lots of informative notes in it. I'm reading the story first, then going to go back and read all the notes.
I hope you are all doing well. I will be by to visit. Love you, friend.♥ *hugs*
Glad your girl is back safe. What a cross, now they did it justice. Let me know about the book. I like to read but don't like to buy when there are so many I haven't read in the library. Some times we want what we want what ever the cost, so I may want it.
ReplyDeleteThe book is really good, Trish. It's very much like the Little House books, just without the fictionalized parts. It's her autobiography she finished in 1930, but it was never published until last year. It also has a LOT of notes. The story wasn't actually all that long, I've finished it, now I'm going through and reading the notes. Yes, I am glad Katie is back safely too. Hope you have a great week! :-)
DeleteBonito post.

DeleteI hope you enjoy Bob's Big Book of Dirt! :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear Katie is home safe and had a successful trip. That cross is pretty amazing.
I am really looking forward to seeing the daffodils bloom.
Have a great week!
:)Vicki
Haha, yes my Big Book of Dirt has been very interesting. :-) I'm glad Katie's home safely too. I thought the cross was just so amazing!
DeleteHappy Easter to you, too, Trish! :-)
ReplyDeleteHello, Teri! So nice to have you stop by.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll like the book. :-) I've read the story, now I'm going through and reading all the notes...lots of good information.
Katie will definitely have good memories of her trip! It's still hard to believe I let her go on them!! LOL! Love you, my sweet friend. I hope you're enjoying your week. *hugs*♥
Did you get to read your book yet? How did you like it? Your husband's joke was funny. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat cross is amazing. Must have been interesting to see in person. I doubt I could got up something like that - tight places and heights. Brrrrr. :-P
I'm guessing school will be out for the summer soon!
Hi, Mary, :-)
DeleteI've read the story part of the book and some of the annotations, but I haven't finished all of it yet. My husband is so funny, I never know what he may do.
We've been so busy trying to get things ready for the end of the school year. We have an awards banquet and graduation coming up, so lots of preparation there. Our last day is June 3.
Katie really liked the cross. She said the guide asked that they all not go to one side, but that they evenly distribute their weight on each side of the cross. Oh my, it's good I wasn't there. I would have probably been worried that it would fall. My husband can't deal with tight spaces or heights either.
I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by! :-)
Lovely blog! thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you and you're welcome! :-)
