It has been a busy week around here - one of those weeks that makes me sort of cringe every time I hear the phone ring. Have you ever had one of those weeks??
The husband of one of the ladies in our church passed away Sunday morning. He was in his 80s and in poor health, but it's still sad for the family.
We also have a very dear friend in ICU right now with cancer and other complications.
So, I've been praying for these families this week. They're going through a lot right now.
The ladies in our church have been taking turns making meals for several families in our church this week, so all of our stoves have been extra busy!
On a happier note, we had the back half of our roof replaced this week. Our friend who is in ICU bought the roofing supplies for us last year, and was going to work on replacing it until he got very sick with cancer. Thankfully, we were able to find someone who would fix the roof for a good price. It rained last night and no leaks!! We can now put the buckets away! :)
More happy news -I would like to wish my mom a happy birthday today!! I have such a wonderful mom. She is so talented. She can quilt, sew, crochet, paint, etc. I'm going to have to take some pictures of some of the things she's made so I can show you just how talented she is! More important than that, though, is her love, care and kindness, and her desire to raise her children to love the Lord! She and Dad made my childhood a very happy one. I have wonderful memories. They're not based around fancy vacations or expensive gifts, but just being together.
Before I go, I'd like to tell you to go to v8juice.com and print out a $1.00 off coupon on V8 V-fusion juice. Katie and I like it a lot, but I don't usually get it unless it's on sale.
I hope you all will have a wonderfully blessed weekend.
Melanie
Hi Melanie,
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great that we have church families to care for and minister to each other when someone has needs!! I am sure your mom rejoices to see and know you as a pastor's wife--who supports him and cares for your church family.
God Bless,
Linda
Yes, our church families are a blessing. I have received many meals in the past years. My girls and I have prepared many meals. One of God's greatest gifts our Church Family...
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting..

ReplyDeleteThanks for the coupon, we love V-8 products! Happy Birthday to your mom!! I can't wait to see your pictures of the things she's made. Does she live very close to you? Will you be getting together with her, maybe a party or go out to dinner or something? You are truly so blessed to have parents who followed the Lord and raised you that way, too.

ReplyDeleteHi Melanie how wonderful your mom is so talented! I can do all the things she can but I cannot paint. Well I can but I never really got into it, but I do want to try it again someday.
ReplyDeleteHappy bleated birthday to her. Sounds like you're a busy girl this week. Thankfully I won't have to worry about my roof leaking in my lifetime I would not think since we have a tile roof. I really like these tile roofs.
I know you said you live simply, I have been thinking of that since you said that. I used to live much simpler then I do now and somehow those seem like the good ole days, but yet I hate the times in which we live and ask God why we are here at this time? I know as Christians we must be here for a reason. I do believe it's so we can work harder to spread Gods word through this difficult time in our country and around the world.
Have a great day whatever it is you're doing today! God Bless Hugs
Melanie, Happy Birthday to your MOM. Many Prayers being said for all those in need. Blessings,
ReplyDeleteHello dear friend,
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been by in a long while. Life has been very busy with work (THANK YOU JESUS!) and other things, and my computer is really acting up; it turns off out of the blue. Just gets too hot. :)
Anyway, I've missed ya.
Happy Birthday to your wonderful Mom!
Have a terrific week and I hope you had a nice blogging break.
Hugs,
Lisa
