until spring is here. ♥
Katie took this picture of our backyard last spring.
I just love it with her tree swing in the background.
It hangs from our big magnolia tree.
This is one of Katie's favorite places to be. :)
~♥~
In just a little while
the trees would be putting out their baby leaves,
all rosy and yellow and pale green,
and there would be wild flowers and birds in the woods.
Then there would be no more stories by the fire at night,
but all day long Laura and Mary
would run and play among the trees,
for it would be spring.

Katie is good! I am so excited for Spring to almost be here. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteDear Melanie...it is so nice to think that soon springtime will be upon us! I just love anything from the "Little House" books! Simple Blessings ♥ Teri
ReplyDeleteIt is a good picture! At first I thoght you wrote that, it is quite visual and hopeful!
ReplyDeleteHey Melanie!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Spring to come either! The kids had a great time this evening playing outside after school. Beautiful picture! Hopefully it won't be much longer before Katie can take some more great pictures of that beautiful tree in bloom!
Have a Wonderful Weekend!
Angela
I think a swing around the magnolia tree would be a favorite place indeed!! you are right, it won't be long until the tree will bloom again!
ReplyDeleteenjoy the weekend
betty
My daughter just loves that series!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to spring too. If it isn't going to snow then I prefer spring :)
I AM READY FOR SPRING AND ALL ITS BEAUTY TOO. TRISH
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Melanie!
ReplyDeleteOh, to see flowers and trees blooming! We are still looking at quite a bit of snow up here...but God is good...and we know it will be gone in His timing, not ours. So we wait patiently (well, most of the time!) and get ready for the garden.
We were just talking this morning about you! My son, Daniel, will be finished his master's degree in May...and really would love to go to Liberty U to do his doctorate (Lord willing). Immediately I thought, if he does, when we go down to visit, maybe we could stop by and see you and your family! It's a lot of "maybes" right now...but I can always dream!
Hope you and your family are having a wonderful weekend!
Laura
Very pretty! I'm seeing a lot of signs of spring around here too.
ReplyDeleteAnd here on my side of the world the leaves are beginning to turn, and Autumn is just around the corner, looking forward to the cooler temperatures, this summer has been hot, hot, hot.
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie, Great Spring picture and I'm sure that Katie loves that swing. I would TOO....
ReplyDeleteNeat poem also. Thanks.
Hugs,
Betsy
That was a perfect Laura Ingalls quote for this blog. Love her books.
ReplyDeleteAnd Katie too - so sweet.
Hope spring comes to you soon - we already have our whites and pinks blooming here.
Love,
sandie♥
I am another one anxious for spring. We will probably have a couple of snowstorms before it officially arrives! There is an old wives tale that normally comes true. It is not officially Spring until “it has snowed on the Robins’ tail three times.”
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Mrs. Melanie,
ReplyDeleteThis is a really nice photo. I agree with everyone else...spring can't come soon enough! It has been a little warmer here in Maine over the past couple of days (we've lost a lot of snow). Hopefully this will be a continuing trend.
Hope you and your family have a great day,
Josh
Melanie, you have a gorgeous magnolia tree and the picture with the swing is so peaceful. I love the smell of magnolia blossoms - and love to see the children having happy times in the spring. IT WON'T BE LONG!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful Spring picture. I like the swing among the blossoms. We're down in north Georgia today and saw many more trees in bloom than we have at home. Thanks for the birthday wishes.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to spring, too. This looks like a lovely spot for a swing. I can see why Katie enjoys it so much. Karen
ReplyDeleteVery nice picture of the magnolia tree!
ReplyDeleteYes, spring will be sprung soon! LOL
Woohoo!!! I'm watchin' the buds swell up on my trees although we'll have frost in these hollers 'till the middle of May!
ReplyDeleteGod bless ya sweetie and enjoy your day! :o)
