Helping Others in the Body of Christ

We've all seen the destruction from the tornadoes last month...over 300 people killed, many more injured, homes destroyed. It's so sad to see the pictures and hear the stories. I can't imagine what they must be going through.

You may have heard of the two families I have listed below. Since most of my blogging is with other Christian ladies, I have seen their sites before. When I heard they had been hit by a tornado, my heart really went out to them.

We certainly need to keep them in our prayers, and I'm sure they would appreciate any words of encouragement or any gift you could give. Click here to get their addresses.

Aaron and Kelly Crawford and their nine children lost their home. Their website is Generation Cedar.

Sherry Lee and her thirteen children lost their home and their husband/father. Her blog is A Baker's Dozen Barnhouse News .

The Crawford Family

The Lee Family

And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.  Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

  1. Dear Melanie,

Thank you for posting this reminder...how often it seems that immediately after something tragic happens...many are there to help. But we must remember that events like this need more than just a "quick fix"...and as the family of God...we need to be there for each other...for the long haul.

Whenever I read or watch these events...it makes my little "issues" so insignificant...it is very humbling indeed.

Hope you all have a blessed weekend,
    Laura

  2. These stories are just frightening and awful! They are lucky to be alive.

  3. May the Lord bless the families who have lost all their earthly belongings. We have neighbors that we helped and fed during a part of the crisis. Our church (Westmore Church of God) fed all victims around us and sent crews in to help with the clean-up.

  4. I guess even if they don't know us personally and we don't know them - prayer is a great thing. I cannot even imagine having lost everything - can you? Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

  5. Dear Melanie...it sure makes one take time to be thankful for all that we have...especially for our loved ones! My prayers are going out to each of these families and the others who have and are suffering from all of the destruction! Blessings for your weekend! Hugs ♥ Teri

  6. I watched the videos a few days ago, as I follow Generation Cedar. I didn't realize when I watched the son being interviewed that his family was from A Baker's Dozen. I somehow missed that. Thank you for sharing this. I'm praying for both families, and so many others who have lost so much.
    Blessings,
    Marcia
