Memorial Day

I hope you all will have an enjoyable Memorial Day, and take the time to remember those who have given their lives for our freedom.
I took this picture at Arlington National Cemetery last fall when we went to a funeral there...such a beautiful, quiet place in the middle of busy Washington, DC.

Have a great week.

  1. very nice tribute to our military, Melanie. We do need to remember to take a few minutes to honor those who gave their lives for our freedom!

isn't Arlington pretty? a fitting place for rest (but you are right, smack right in the middle of DC)

I hope you have a restful day!

  5. Dear Melanie,

When I was a little girl...every fall we traveled down to Washington with my parents. My dad had to take some jet engine test equipment to the Bureau of Standards. Each trip...we would go around a visit historic sites in Washington, Maryland, and Virginia. I can still remember the first time I saw Arlington National Cemetery. It is an image that never leaves your mind...or your heart.

    Take care, my friend,
    Laura

  6. We went to a Memorial Day service today. I want my kids to have a glimpse of the price paid for their freedom.
    Blessings,

  7. I like the perspective of the picture you took! So many lives are depicted there. I hope the politicians in DC can appreciate what it takes to keep our country FREE.

    Have a Great week....
