Thrifted Finds

While we were on vacation,
we went to a few thrift stores.
We really enjoy just looking around.
It's like a little treasure hunt...
you never know what you might find.

We found some
miscellaneous useful things like...

some shirts for Katie,
some cologne, a belt,
and a shirt for my husband,

and I was so happy to find
these cute decorative bargains!

A wreath by the front door

~♥~
A sweet little basket
for kitchen utensils

~♥~
A heart napkin holder

At fifty cents each, I think I got a great deal! :)

~♥~
Some of my favorite things
have come from a thrift store.
I got this sweater from Goodwill
about eight years ago,
and I just love it!

What are some of your favorite thrifted finds??

Melanie

  3. Thanks for showing us your finds, they are very cool!!! My DIL has wonderful luck at Goodwill, she gets fancy dresses and shoes and things for her daughter for a dollar or so. But whenever I go, nothing! I just don't seem to have good luck!

  4. Just look at the treasures you captured! I have a tissue holder like your sweet little basket only with a top, handle and it's forest green where yours is burgundy.

God bless and have a beautiful day sweetie!

  5. You found some nice treasures! I can't think of my *best* find right now as I thrift quite a bit! I do think of many times that we have had a need and the Lord has filled it through the Goodwill. Nice denim skirts, a nice suit jacket, shoes, etc. for $2-$3 each. I really don't like digging through racks and racks of clothes so when I find something great, I'm always thrilled!

One of my favorite "God provides" moments was a few years ago when my husband's belt broke one day. He is larger so only the more expensive stores carry his size. It was a very tight month financially, but he needed a belt to hold up his pants :-)so we finally decided to take money from another category to buy this belt. We were in the car getting ready to go buy a belt when the thought ran across my mind (I know now it was the Holy Spirit) to check at the Goodwill first. Now, our Goodwill really isn't the greatest when it comes to bargains although we do find good stuff there occasionally. But we went and checked it out anyways! And what do you know... 2 belts-one black and one brown- in his size for under a dollar each!

  11. Congratulations on your treasures found in the thrift store! Love that sweater - and what a bargain you got in the napkin holder! Consider the cost of a simple board from Lowe's or Home Depot and you will realize just what a bargain!

  15. Good Morning Melanie!

I've been meaning to stop by for ever so long...seems like time has just flown the past few weeks! I absolutely love thrift stores...they are where I get many of my craft supplies! And lately, I've been watching our local one for vintage sheets.

The sweater you found is so adorable! I can see why it has been one of your most favorite finds!

One of my brothers is here for the weekend...and we may tackle taking down a few trees that are too close to the house and in desperate need of coming down. Looks like more firewood for next winter!

Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow...I'm sure your family will treat you like a queen!
    Love,
    Laura
