Being Home

We had a very nice weekend just staying home. I love being home.

I watched  Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons while I cleaned the house. It's a good feeling to have things nice and clean, plus all the mopping and vacuuming is good exercise! (smile

What a treat to look out my kitchen window and see this beautiful tree in our front yard. Unfortunately we had some strong winds and heavy rain on Wednesday, so it lost a lot of its petals after I took this picture. When it was in full bloom, the kitchen had such a pretty pink glow from the light coming in the window.

We have had some very nice days this spring. We don't have a porch, so my husband bought this backyard swing for us. We really enjoy it in the evenings...very relaxing and peaceful. We're enjoying it now before the heat and humidity of summer get here.

This is our backyard in the springtime. Everything is so pretty and bright green this time of year. Lilly enjoys it too. :-)

Take care,
~Melanie

  10. Little House on the Prairie and The Walton's were a favorite in our home. It has been a long time since I have seen them.
I do agree with the feeling one gets when everything is nice and clean. Have a blessed week.

  11. I love spring green! It's such a vibrant color. :-) Your tree was lovely. We lived in one parsonage where we didn't have a porch (worth mentioning) and we had a couple lawn gliders under a big old maple. :-) It's nice to have a comfortable place to sit outside.

  12. Yes, Mary, it is so nice to have a comfortable place to sit outside. When we moved here ten years ago, we only had a couple of trees in the backyard. My husband planted a maple and a willow, and they're really growing! We have the swing under the maple. I've really enjoyed the swing! Hope you're having a good week! :-)

  15. Hi, Melanie. Everything looks so pretty at your house. I REALLY like your swing. It looks so comfy.

I am going to be on the lookout for some rubber snakes for the garden. They might even scare me away a time or two. :)

    Have a great week!

  16. Thank you, Vicki. We've really been enjoying our swing! I forgot to tell you Dad also uses fake owls in the garden. They all do a great job keeping pests away. :-)

  17. Hi Melanie! Please forgive me...I haven't stopped by for a visit in such a longggggggg time! Your yard is beautiful...wish I could stop by for a cup of ice tea and a swing with you...maybe someday! :) I can't believe how much earlier things bloom down where you are...we are just starting to blossom around here!
Hope all is well...you must be excited that school is almost over!
    Love,

  18. Hi, Laura~
So nice to have you stop by!
Yes, so many things here have already bloomed. Now we're enjoying the pretty roses.
We've had such a nice Spring so far...still able to enjoy the swing, though we do have to protect ourselves against the mosquitoes!
Our last day of school was Wednesday - so nice to have a break.
Hope you are doing well, my sweet friend. I think about you a lot and pray things are going well with your parents. I'll be by to 'visit' soon! Love and hugs♥
