Being Home

We had a very nice weekend just staying home. I love being home.

I watched  Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons while I cleaned the house. It's a good feeling to have things nice and clean, plus all the mopping and vacuuming is good exercise! (smile

What a treat to look out my kitchen window and see this beautiful tree in our front yard. Unfortunately we had some strong winds and heavy rain on Wednesday, so it lost a lot of its petals after I took this picture. When it was in full bloom, the kitchen had such a pretty pink glow from the light coming in the window.

We have had some very nice days this spring. We don't have a porch, so my husband bought this backyard swing for us. We really enjoy it in the evenings...very relaxing and peaceful. We're enjoying it now before the heat and humidity of summer get here.

This is our backyard in the springtime. Everything is so pretty and bright green this time of year. Lilly enjoys it too. :-)

Take care,
~Melanie

  5. Little House on the Prairie and The Walton's were a favorite in our home. It has been a long time since I have seen them.
I do agree with the feeling one gets when everything is nice and clean. Have a blessed week.

  6. I love spring green! It's such a vibrant color. :-) Your tree was lovely. We lived in one parsonage where we didn't have a porch (worth mentioning) and we had a couple lawn gliders under a big old maple. :-) It's nice to have a comfortable place to sit outside.

  8. Hi, Melanie. Everything looks so pretty at your house. I REALLY like your swing. It looks so comfy.

I am going to be on the lookout for some rubber snakes for the garden. They might even scare me away a time or two. :)

    Have a great week!

Your yard is beautiful...wish I could stop by for a cup of ice tea and a swing with you...maybe someday! :) I can't believe how much earlier things bloom down where you are...we are just starting to blossom around here!
Hope all is well...you must be excited that school is almost over!
