A loaf of cinnamon bread from our neighbor....oh, it is yummy! It's a blessing to have good neighbors!
When we were visiting with my parents at Christmas, I mentioned to Mom that I remembered a pretty little blue candle holder she had that sat on a table in the living room. She went right to the kitchen and pulled it out of one of the cabinets and gave it to me. Isn't it pretty? I had no idea she'd kept it all these years! I'm happy to have it!
All these bags went to Goodwill last week. Now my closets and cabinets have a little more room to *breathe*...such a good feeling! It's amazing how things can accumulate!
Take care,
~Melanie
I am working on giving my space a little more room to breathe. I agree it feels good!
ReplyDeleteGood neighbors are certainly a blessing. Our dear neighbor passed away over the summer and we are hopeful that new neighbor will be a blessing. You never know!
My mom had one of those candle holders. The one she had was an orange color.
Have a great week!
Hello, Wendi~
DeleteYes, I feel so much better getting the closets cleaned out! There's still more to do...always an ongoing process.
Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor passing away. I hope your new one will be good..you are so right - you never know!
Mom still had the box for the candle holder. It was from Home Interior. I love all the design in it. So neat that your mom had one too. :-)
Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by.
I have also been taking lots of things to Goodwill. But I have been shopping there, too. Today I went to FOUR of them! Guess I am hooked. The candle holder is so pretty. Gosh, you gave me a start! I thought at first that you had fed the birds all that beautiful cinnamon bread!
ReplyDeleteHi, Ginny~
DeleteThe lady at Goodwill said they had been very busy with donations! I guess a lot of people are clearing out with the New Year.
Oh no, WE are enjoying the yummy cinnamon bread! The birds enjoy their seeds. :-)
Have a great week!
Oh, so nice to hear from you, Teri! I hope you will have a great week, my sweet friend!♥
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful blessings to share with us. :) I enjoyed reading this and seeing the pictures! And how sweet of your Mom to give you the candle holder! It is SUCH a great feeling to get rid of unnecessary things, isn't it? We are on a mission around here to do that, as well. Much love to you, sweet friend. :)
ReplyDeleteHello, Cheryl!
DeleteSo nice to hear from you today. :-)
Yes, I thought it was so sweet of Mom to give me the candle holder. I had no idea she still had it! I thought it would have been given away years ago. I think it is so pretty.
Oh, it makes me feel so much better to get rid of the unnecessary things. I still have more to do, but that seems to be a never-ending process!
I hope you have a great week, my sweet friend! ♥
This pass year was the year I cleaned out closets. We are keeping the folks at Good will in business. lol I remember the candle holder. Its a pretty blue.
ReplyDeleteHello, Trish!
DeleteYes, I'm sure with your move you were able to get rid of a lot! I haven't moved in eleven years, so it's easy to let things pile up. So neat that you remember the candle holder. As I told one of my other friends, it's from Home Interior. I remember Mom had some of their other items too.
Hope you have a great week, my friend! :-)
I truly believe it is the little moments and little things in life that are special. Sweet little candle holder.
ReplyDeleteYes, Betty, I try to enjoy the simple little things in life. We don't always have to be doing something big and grand to make special memories or enjoy ourselves.
DeleteThanks for stopping by! :-)
Oh, very nice. So neat about the candle holder! :-) And it feels so good to get rid of unnecessary things, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteYes, Mary, it does feel good to get rid of all those unnecessary things! I still have more things to go through, but it's an ongoing process.
DeleteI thought it was so neat that Mom still had that candle holder. I had no idea! I love that blue color.
She's been going through all of her 'stuff' too. I'm fortunate she hadn't gotten rid of it already. :-)
My closets and cabinets could use a little more breathing room also! The bread looks delicious! I love the blue candle holder. My favorite things are the ones that came from my mom and dad's house that I remember as a kid!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great week
:)Vicki
I still have more to do, Vicki, but I'm getting there! It seems the process of clearing the clutter is never-ending! Oh, we have enjoyed the bread this week...not much left! My little candle holder makes me smile...I agree....I like things that I remember as a kid. I guess it's just good memories. I'm having a good week, but I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. I hope you're having a good week too! :-)
