Happiness in Little Things

It's important to look for and enjoy those 'little things' that bring us happiness in life.

A happy chickadee... After I cropped the picture, it looks like the feeder is on the ground, but it's just the angle. I took the picture from my front door. The yard was *full* of happy singing birds. I love watching the birds at the feeder. Happiness from a simple bag of bird seed. :-)

A loaf of cinnamon bread from our neighbor....oh, it is yummy! It's a blessing to have good neighbors!

When we were visiting with my parents at Christmas, I mentioned to Mom that I remembered a pretty little blue candle holder she had that sat on a table in the living room. She went right to the kitchen and pulled it out of one of the cabinets and gave it to me. Isn't it pretty? I had no idea she'd kept it all these years! I'm happy to have it!

All these bags went to Goodwill last week. Now my closets and cabinets have a little more room to *breathe*...such a good feeling! It's amazing how things can accumulate!

Take care,
~Melanie

  1. I am working on giving my space a little more room to breathe. I agree it feels good!

Good neighbors are certainly a blessing. Our dear neighbor passed away over the summer and we are hopeful that new neighbor will be a blessing. You never know!

My mom had one of those candle holders. The one she had was an orange color.

    Have a great week!

Yes, I feel so much better getting the closets cleaned out! There's still more to do...always an ongoing process.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor passing away. I hope your new one will be good..you are so right - you never know!

Mom still had the box for the candle holder. It was from Home Interior. I love all the design in it. So neat that your mom had one too. :-)

Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by.

  2. I have also been taking lots of things to Goodwill. But I have been shopping there, too. Today I went to FOUR of them! Guess I am hooked. The candle holder is so pretty. Gosh, you gave me a start! I thought at first that you had fed the birds all that beautiful cinnamon bread!

    1. Hello, Trish!
Yes, I'm sure with your move you were able to get rid of a lot! I haven't moved in eleven years, so it's easy to let things pile up. So neat that you remember the candle holder. As I told one of my other friends, it's from Home Interior. I remember Mom had some of their other items too.
Hope you have a great week, my friend! :-)

She's been going through all of her 'stuff' too. I'm fortunate she hadn't gotten rid of it already. :-)
