More Snow

We awoke to more snow this morning! My husband filled the bird feeder and took some pictures of the snow and Lilly. He even took a little video of her.  She is such a funny dog. :-)

I've been trying to keep myself busy to keep from missing Katie so much. I've washed clothes, put chicken in the crock pot, experimented with a new recipe for my bread machine, and made a strawberry cake for my husband. There are some good smells coming from my kitchen today!

I'm so thankful for all my 'maids' ~ my crock pot, washing machine, oven, etc.. I've often wondered what our ancestors would think of all our modern conveniences. Surely they would be amazed.

Katie's trip is going well. She'll be back next week! Please continue to keep her in your prayers. :-)

I hope you're all enjoying your day! So glad you stopped by.

Take care,
~Melanie

  2. Our Lilly is so funny. We've had several dogs through the years, but this one definitely has the funniest personality.

I am so looking forward to Katie coming home. She's more than halfway through her trip now. I'm thankful she has a heart to serve the Lord. :-)

  3. We woke up to lots of snow this morning too! Luckily Quentin got to go into work late after they scraped our road. Lilly is making a snow angel!:)

    1. Hi, Vicki,
I'm glad your husband could make it in to work today! We had to cancel school and we won't have it tomorrow either. Our church parking lot is gravel and it's in a residential area. The roads aren't scraped or treated as well as the main roads. It's supposed to be in the 20's overnight. That parking lot will be a skating rink tomorrow!
Yes, Lilly is making snow angels! She is such a funny dog.
      :-D
Thank you for your prayers for Katie. She is doing well - I miss her so much. I'm glad she'll be home soon.

  4. Lilly LOVES the snow! The video shows pure enjoyment. I love when she gets up and shakes off, then goes right back down to roll again. It's like she can't stop.

  5. The snow is pretty, but can be tedious especially with how much certain parts of the country can get. I too am thankful for my "maids" too. I like how you describe them!

    1. Yes, Betty, I am glad we haven't had as much snow as some places. I have a cousin who lives in Boston. She is way tired of it! :-)
We're blessed with our little 'maids', aren't we? I love reading the Little House books, but I am thankful for my modern conveniences!
I hope you have a great weekend. :-)

  6. Dear Teri~
It does look like snow is headed your way! Spring will have to wait a little longer. :-)
Thank you for your prayers for Katie. They had a 'free day' yesterday, so they went mountain climbing. I'm hoping to post some of the views~it was beautiful!
Lilly is such a mess, so sweet and spoiled and funny.

  7. Awww....Lily is so sweet! I called Zach in to watch the video. We got a kick out of it. Animals bring so much joy and comfort to our lives! I know your husband enjoyed that strawberry cake. It sounds yummy! The days are getting closer to dear Katie coming home...I know you are missing her terribly. Praying for you both every, single day. Much love to you, sweet friend. :)

    1. Oh, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! We'll usually let her stay out 5-10 minutes, then call her back in. It's hard to tell how long she'd stay out there on her own!
Yes, Lee is enjoying the cake. :-)
